How-To: MDM Import Steps/Process

At a very high level this blog provides steps on how to create an Import process in SAP MDM.

1. log on to MDM Console.
2. Make sure you have unloaded repository by logging into repository.
3. Go to 'Systems' then create inbound remote system

4. Go to 'Ports' then create a port with automatic/continous scheduling. Make sure Import server is running.

5. Load repository.
6. Create import map by launching import manager. Select inbound remote system which we created in step 3.
7. Do all import mappings and save.
8. Unload repository.
9. Go to Ports and select the port we created in step 4, then assign import map we created in step 6.
10. Save & load the repository.
